Artè began its career in the early Eighties as a book-binding laboratory, originally dealing exclusively in restoring and sewing books and creating covers and binding with elegant handmade paper. The laboratory’s location in a historical building in the ancient heart of the city helped define the atmosphere and style of its business activity – a business which, has over the years, redirected its focus to the production of picture frames and mirrors and retailing posters and objets d’art. In November 2006 the business relocated to charming and spacious premises in a historical building with passageways and fluid spaces which, aided by music and aromas, facilitate a more effective presentation of recent products like gilded gouache or glazed frames in a variety of colours, carved wooden mirrors and artistic solutions for made-to-measure interior design. At the end of the deepest passageway, evocative of the calidarium of a Turkish bath, the calming and rhythmic sound of trickling water from a small fountain accompanies visitors interested in seeing our work.
