GOLFING TUSCANY (3 DAYS)

DAY 1   Montecatini Golf & Country Club

Immersed in the Tuscan countryside, the Montecatini Golf Club is an 18 hole golf course of natural beauty that has been built in the hilly countryside. The player is faced with many natural hazards such as lakes, streams, forests, and ditches which have been formed as part of the natural contours of the land. The course, as well, features many dog legs and the greens are very fast and are also undulating, putting the best golfer’s skill to the test. Located deep in the green Tuscan countryside, this naturally hilly course is extremely stimulating for all golfers. Five of the eighteen holes have water traps. Constructed in Pievaccia soil, this course is particularly suited to the game of Golf. The beauty of the surrounding Tuscany countryside is yours to enjoy.
Non golfers may choose to take a day excursion IN the region OF PISTOIA and the towns of Pistoia and Montecatini, sightseeing, and discovering the magic of these charming towns of Tuscany. A relaxing day at the local thermal Spa, horseback riding, guided tours, designer shopping or exploring artisans and artist workshops are some of the many options available. Dinner and overnight stay in Pistoia.

DAY 2   Ugolino

Breakfast in hotel. Start the day with an early morning round of golf at “The Ugolino Golf Club”. If you look at the scorecard you might think at first that this is an easy course because its length is “only” 5,741 meters. But watch out! Difficulties on golf courses are not just meters. Ugolino is a natural course designed and built in 1934 in the Chianti hills and it exploits at best the natural characteristics of the Tuscan landscape: the cypress trees and olive trees, the slopes that curve and follow the magnificent scenery, the small greens which are often very well-defended. These are the obstacles that the golfer comes up against on a course which is part and parcel of Italian golfing history and severely tests players of all sorts. It is not by chance that Ugolino has formed many excellent golfers. The course is a most challenging test for players who have to devote their skills to playing accurately rather than powerfully.
Non-golfers have the possibility to choose from many daily excursions; the nearby Tower of Pisa, the beaches of Viareggio,Forte dei Marmi, Pietrasanra, or a trip to Vinci, Lucca or the Pistoiese Mountains for a taste of real Italian lifestyle and culture. Dinner and overnight stay in Pistoia.
